The Pacific Coast of Costa Rica is the most popular region in the country, and for good reason! This area is home to beautiful untouched beaches as well as vibrant towns and cities!

A few of the highlights of the Pacific Coast include whale watching in Uvita, Manuel Antonio National Park, surfing in Jaco, and more! A few of the highlights of the Pacific Coast include whale watching in Uvita, Manuel Antonio National Park, surfing in Jaco, and more!

A beautiful peninsula in the Pacific Ocean. Home to incredible beaches, surf, waterfalls, and vibrant towns including Nosara, Santa Teresa, Samara, and more!

This is the perfect place to go if you want to get away from the busier resort towns like Jaco and Tamarindo but still have your touristy creature comforts and attractions.

Costa Rica’s Caribbean coast is definitely quieter coast. This just adds to its charm! Here, you’ll find smaller beach towns with nothing but “chill” vibes.

The Caribbean Coast is home to the beautiful tourist town of Puerto Viejo; Tortuguero National Park, which is known for sea turtles; as well as Cahuita National Park, which is famous for wildlife and pristine beaches.

Located in the south on the Pacific Ocean side of Costa Rica, this is the most remote area to explore.

Wildlife lovers should visit the Osa Peninsula. Here, you can visit the famous Corcovado National Park as well as Cano Island (for world-class snorkeling!)

A trip here takes a little more planning than some of the other destinations in Costa Rica due to the remote location.

If you’re looking for lush jungle, authentic culture, and volcanoes, then this is the region for you! We’ve created this category as a place for all of the destinations in Costa Rica that we write about that are NOT located on the coast.

To us, it’s one of the most interesting regions! From chasing waterfalls to climbing volcanoes to soaking in hot springs, this is the area to explore if you want some adventure!

Located on the northern Pacific coast, Guanacaste is one of the most visited provinces in Costa Rica.

What makes the region even more appealing is its unique climate – it doesn’t have a ‘rainy’ season, and it is, in fact, the driest part of Costa Rica. So, if you’re looking to vacation somewhere with pretty much guaranteed good weather, then head to the Guanacaste.
